1. Information We Collect

When you use 5tepTracker, we collect:

• Account info: Email address and display name when you sign up.
• Health & fitness data: Step counts, distance, running/walking activity, and GPS routes during tracked activities.
• Profile data: Height, weight, step goals, and preferences you set in the app.
• Device info: Device type and OS version for app compatibility.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• Track and display your fitness activity, XP, levels, and streaks.
• Power social features like leaderboards, friends, and challenges.
• Send notifications about achievements, streaks, and goals.
• Improve app performance and fix bugs.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your fitness data may be visible to friends you add (activity feed, leaderboards). GPS routes are only visible to you unless you choose to share them.

5. Location Data

GPS location is only collected during actively tracked runs and walks, and only when you grant permission. Background location is used solely for continuous activity tracking when enabled. You can revoke location permissions at any time.

6. Your Rights

You can:

• View and edit your profile data at any time in the app.
• Delete your account and all associated data from Settings > Account.
• Export your activity data.
• Revoke permissions (location, notifications) through your device settings.
